Hey to all the make up junkies out there.
Ever since I have started blogging about fashion and beauty, I have also turned into a make up hoarder. I am on a perpetual hunt for new products to try on myself but since my skin is super sensitive and prone to allergies, I prefer trying on a sample and keeping it on for a few hours before purchasing any new make up item.
This time I bought two products from Colorbar and I will be reviewing both of them in this post.
Colorbar Spotlight Illuminating Lotion
Price: Rs. 950/-
Quantity: 30 ml/ 1.0 FL. OZ
Skin type: All
Shades available : One for all
Texture : Light & creamy
It is a sheer luminizing moisturiser with special light-reflecting pigments that veils the skin in a soft, pearly glow. It is also enriched with ‘Hyaluronic Acid’, it keeps skin thoroughly hydrated and plumped. Apart from this, it is also 100% vegetarian and cruelty free. I appreciate when make up companies spare the animals from torture by testing skincare products on them.
Take a little product on the back of your hand and use your fingers to apply it evenly all over the face.
Gently rub in circular motions to evenly apply it onto your face.
Although it claims to be sheer but it has a little pinkish tone when applied. It looks pearly white at first but once you start rubbing it on your skin, you can spot the pink tones. However I loved it on my skin! It works as a moisturiser as well but for people with extremely dry skin, like me, I would recommend applying a coat of a light moisturiser underneath this. For others, you can just simply wear this and it is suitable for all skin types.
It can also be mixed with foundation/bb creams for more coverage +glow. Another option for using it can also be as a mild highlighter.I personally like to apply it on its own when I want a no make up- yet fresh face look. It is powered with shimmering pigments and potent botanicals that reduce signs of imperfections to light up the skin instantly.
In the above picture, the difference is noticeably visible on the right half of my face where I have applied it. It is giving my face a fabulous glow.
Will be restocking this product once it finishes. I’m in love with this product from Colorbar and would recommend it to girls who love a bit of radiance on their face without applying too much of heavy make up. It is also worth the money you are spending on it.
2. Colorbar Amino Skin Radiant Foundation
Shade: Lotus Deep
Price: Rs. 1200/-
Quantity: 15 g/ 0.05 US. OZ
Skin type: All
Shades available : 8
Texture : Creamy and smooth
Coverage: Between medium and high
This is a new product launched by Colorbar Cosmetics. It is made with a water resistant formula and is suitable for all skin types. It is characterized by the presence of Lysine, an essential amino acid to maintaining the protein layer of the skin by improving hydration actively. It’s also enriched with sophisticated treated Japanese pigments which ensure a colour fidelity and uniformity in application. This perfect second skin foundation acts as “filler” to provide face a smooth and satin finish with the presence of Silicon Elastomers.
It was an impulsive buy and what attracted me towards buying this was that it was water resistant which also makes it sweat resistant. Due to the temperatures in Delhi rising upto 45 degrees everyday, I decided that i had to try this product. To test it, I applied a swatch on my wrist and washed it in water. I was surprised that it was still there as it is. So i made the purchase.
I was recommended the shade Lotus deep which is perfect for fair skin with pink undertones. At first i thought it was a little white for me, but after i let the product settle in on my skin, it blended really well. It is very easy to apply. It can be applied with fingers and it covers the imperfections of the face and smoothens out the skintone.
In the picture above, I have applied the foundation on only the right half of my face and below is the picture with foundation on the complete face.
P.S. The illuminating lotion is still applied only on the right half of my face and the difference is visibly seen in the picture if once looks carefully.
I finished off my look with a little bit of blush and a stroke of lip color.
It is the perfect foundation for summers. Even if you sweat, it’s silicon finishing prevents it from spoiling your base make up. It does not feel heavy or cakey on the face and has a very silky touch. It also gives just the perfect amount of radiance for girls who do not like to go overboard with the shine. Overall, it gives the face a happy-fresh look!
Apart from these two products, I also recommend the ‘ Just Smoky Kajal’ by Colorbar cosmetics. Ever since I have had my hands on it, I haven’t used any other Kajal. It is smudgeproof and waterproof and gives the eyes a very intense look. After Mac, this is the best Kajal I have come across.
We hope you enjoyed reading this post. Do let us know your experience with these products if you decide to try them on!
